WWE currently operates three wrestling brands on its main programming. Raw airs Monday nights on Netflix worldwide. SmackDown airs Friday nights on USA Network in the United States and Netflix internationally. NXT, the developmental brand, airs on The CW on Tuesday nights. The active WWE roster includes approximately 35 superstars on Raw, 30 on SmackDown, and 30 on NXT as of May 2026. This total does not include the WWE Evolve developmental program, WWE ID athletes, or part-time and inactive performers.

When does the WWE Draft happen?

The WWE Draft typically takes place once a year, usually in the weeks following WrestleMania. The most recent draft took place in 2025. No date has been announced for a 2026 WWE Draft at this time. Roster changes between drafts happen through trades, free agency moves, and NXT call-ups.

Who was released from WWE in 2026?

WWE released approximately 30 superstars on April 24, 2026, in a sweeping post-WrestleMania roster reset. An additional four departures followed in early May. WWE Evolve is an early-stage developmental program that sits below NXT in the WWE talent pipeline. Wrestlers in Evolve may also be part of the WWE ID (Independent Development) program or the WWE LFG (Legends and Future Greats) reality competition. Successful Evolve wrestlers can be promoted to NXT, and from NXT to the main roster.
