Gunther Attacks Cody Rhodes in the Parking Lot
The WWE Raw results July 6 2026 opened with violence before the show even reached the ring. Sami Zayn arrived at the Allstate Arena in a convertible, greeting fans and carrying the Undisputed WWE Championship. Cody Rhodes was waiting backstage. Zayn told Rhodes that the golden boy wasn’t going to swoop in and take back his title — he would walk out of Chicago still champion.

Seth Rollins Opens Raw — LA Knight Confronts, Jimmy Uso Attacks
Seth Rollins opened the show in the ring and addressed his SummerSlam World Heavyweight Championship match against Roman Reigns. The Chicago crowd chanted for CM Punk immediately. Rollins brushed it off — “I couldn’t care less about that guy right now” — which drew boos. Rollins said his business was the World Heavyweight Championship, SummerSlam, and beating the Tribal Chief.
LA Knight interrupted and stole the segment. Raw GM Adam Pearce and SmackDown GM Nick Aldis had a heated backstage confrontation. Aldis accused Pearce of poaching SmackDown’s main event by putting the Undisputed WWE Championship on Raw. Gunther appeared and told Pearce his decisions led to this. Security kicked Gunther out. Gunther called Aldis a failed wrestler and General Manager on the way out.

Joe Hendry addressed the tag title loss and said he was shocked at what Maxxine did. Hendry then pivoted to saying he wants the Intercontinental Championship — he was a champion everywhere he wrestled before WWE, and he believes his time is coming. He sang his Logan Paul song for good measure.
Sol Ruca Retains Women’s IC Championship over Raquel Rodriguez

Liv Morgan gave Rodriguez a pep talk in the Judgment Day clubhouse before the match. The bout went 10 minutes. Rodriguez brought size and power but Ruca survived and hit the Sol Snatcher for the pin. Judgment Day (Morgan, Roxanne Perez) and IYO SKY all got involved during the match, continuing the Women’s World Championship SummerSlam build.
IC Championship #1 Contender’s Gauntlet Announced for Next Week
Adam Pearce announced a seven-man gauntlet match for next week’s Raw to determine the number one contender for Penta’s Intercontinental Championship. The participants: Chad Gable, Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, Joe Hendry, Dominik Mysterio, Ethan Page, and Rusev. Penta was interviewed backstage and expressed excitement before Page and Rusev interrupted to run their mouths.

Paul Heyman and Oba Femi Go Face to Face
Paul Heyman came to the ring to deliver a message from Brock Lesnar. Heyman said Oba Femi walks around WWE acting like he owns the place — which he doesn’t. Heyman called him “King Shlong” and described what happens when Brock Lesnar kicks you in the little Femis. He said Femi made the biggest mistake of his life accepting the Hell in a Cell match and warned him that he isn’t coming out of the cell.
Femi’s music hit and he made his entrance to a loud reaction. He told Heyman he came out so Paul wouldn’t be lonely — he wanted to give him a face to talk to. The match was an instant classic. Zayn and Punk traded finisher attempts throughout — Zayn hit Punk with a GTS, Punk kicked out. Punk locked in the Anaconda Vice in the middle of the ring, Zayn fought out. Zayn tried the same rollup cradle that beat Rhodes at Night of Champions — Punk kicked out. A superplex off the top rope left both men down. The finishing sequence was brutal: Zayn removed his wrist tape and started slapping Punk in the face, telling him he’s the champion now. Punk fought back with chops and punches, backed Zayn to the corner, hit an Irish Whip — Zayn set up for the Helluva Kick but missed. Punk hit his own Helluva Kick followed immediately by the GTS.
