SmackDown April 24 2026: Full Breakdown
Jacob Fatu Opens SmackDown — Bloodline Family Politics Explode
The show opened with Jacob Fatu addressing the crowd about his Backlash challenge to Roman Reigns. Fatu acknowledged that Reigns told him he wasn’t ready, then admitted Roman was right — because he’s heard that his whole life. The Usos interrupted with conflicting advice: Jimmy tried to steer Fatu toward challenging Cody Rhodes instead and joining the family, while Jey told Fatu to step up to Reigns and prepare for war.
Solo Sikoa and the MFTs then arrived. Solo claimed he was the one who brought Fatu to WWE and offered his army as backup. When Tama Tonga called Fatu a lost cause, Fatu responded with a superkick that dropped Tonga instantly. Fatu then challenged Solo to a match later in the night. The Bloodline dynamics on SmackDown are now a four-way tug of war — and Fatu made it clear he’s choosing his own path.
Tiffany Stratton def. Giulia (c) — NEW Women’s United States Champion
In the night’s only title match, Tiffany Stratton defeated Giulia to capture the Women’s United States Championship. Giulia, accompanied by Kiana James, controlled the early going with targeted neckwork and a reverse Tower of London at ringside. Stratton mounted a comeback with a handspring stunner and survived Giulia’s counter offence down the stretch. The finish saw Stratton hit an Alabama Slam followed by the Prettiest Moonsault Ever for the pinfall. This was their best match together to date, and the title change gives Stratton the championship credibility her character needed heading into the Backlash era.
Paige & Brie Bella vs Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss — Fatal Influence Attacks, Match Ends in DQ
The Women’s Tag Team Champions came out for a celebratory promo before Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss interrupted and challenged them to a match. The bout lasted only a few minutes before Fatal Influence — Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid — stormed the ring, yanked Paige off the apron, and attacked all four women to force the disqualification. Fatal Influence laid out both teams to a chorus of boos, making their SmackDown debut with maximum impact. Kairi Sane was also involved in the tag division proceedings earlier in the night.
Cody Rhodes Addresses WrestleMania — “Easy To Find, Hard To Beat”
Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes appeared with his black eye still visible from Randy Orton’s WrestleMania Punt Kick. Rhodes told the Fort Worth crowd that walking up the ramp after WrestleMania was a deliberate choice — the day he takes the side ramp, his championship run is over. He sent a direct message to Orton and anyone else watching: he is easy to find, whether from NXT, Raw, or SmackDown, but hard to beat. Rhodes did not get physical, consistent with his ongoing recovery from the orbital injury he suffered at WrestleMania.
Damian Priest & R-Truth (c) def. MFT — WWE Tag Team Championships Retained
The tag team champions retained against Tama Tonga and JC Mateo of the MFTs. Solo Sikoa was absent from ringside, sending his stablemates alone after ordering them to win the titles back for the family. Tonga Loa was present but couldn’t prevent Priest and Truth from holding on. The MFTs are now 0-3 in recent championship opportunities, and Solo’s decision to prioritise his match against Jacob Fatu over supporting his own faction at ringside further exposed the cracks within the group.
Rhea Ripley Arrives — Issues Open Challenge, Nick Aldis Makes Jacy Jayne Match
Rhea Ripley made her first SmackDown entrance as WWE Women’s Champion to a massive ovation, declaring herself a fighting champion and inviting anyone in the back to step up. Jacy Jayne answered the call, flanked by Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. The crowd showered Jayne with relentless boos throughout her entire promo, drowning her out repeatedly. SmackDown GM Nick Aldis then appeared and made a Ripley vs Jayne match official as punishment for Fatal Influence’s earlier attack on Paige and Brie Bella. A Blake Monroe vignette also aired during the show, signalling yet another NXT call-up to SmackDown’s women’s division. A Ricky Saints vignette also confirmed he will debut on SmackDown next week.
Danhausen def. The Miz
The comedy match of the night saw Danhausen defeat The Miz after a distraction involving The Miz’s Slammy Award and a Danhausen double-curse that triggered pyro, spooked The Miz, and allowed a roll-up victory. Earlier in the show, a pre-taped vignette showed Danhausen visiting Miz’s house, with Miz ending up in his own pool.
Trick Williams Celebrates With Lil Yachty
New United States Champion Trick Williams celebrated his WrestleMania title win with Lil Yachty and the Fort Worth crowd. The segment established Williams as a champion with crossover appeal, though no specific challenger stepped forward tonight. The US Championship picture remains open heading into Backlash.
Rhea Ripley def. Jacy Jayne by DQ — Fatal Influence Stands Tall
SmackDown GM Nick Aldis made the match official as punishment for Fatal Influence’s earlier attack. Jayne impressed in a competitive 11-minute contest, landing a pump knee for a near-fall and cutting off Ripley on the ropes. Ripley mounted a comeback with a Cheeky Nandos kick and a Razor’s Edge, but when she went for the Riptide, Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid stormed the ring and attacked her for the disqualification. Fatal Influence stood tall over the champion, with Jayne landing her Rolling Encore discus elbow on Ripley to close the segment. Backstage afterwards, Charlotte Flair told Alexa Bliss she would get her hands on Jayne next week.
Jacob Fatu def. Solo Sikoa — Fatu Destroys MFT Post-Match
The main event of the SmackDown results delivered everything. Jacob Fatu defeated Solo Sikoa with a superkick, pop-up Samoan Drop, and the Mighty Moonsault for the pinfall. The MFTs attacked Fatu after the match with chairs, but Fatu fought off all three members single-handedly — wrapping chairs around JC Mateo’s and Tama Tonga’s necks in the corners and hitting Umaga-style hip attacks on both. Fatu then hit a suicide dive on Tonga Loa and delivered a Samoan Splash through the announce table. SmackDown ended with Fatu standing tall, staring down The Usos, and delivering the message that will set up Monday’s Raw: “Tell Roman I’ll see him, and y’all, on Monday Night Raw.”
Jacob Fatu closed SmackDown by telling The Usos to deliver a message to Roman Reigns — that confrontation happens Monday. See the full WWE Raw April 27 2026 preview for every confirmed segment.
