Raw Results May 4 2026: Full Segment-By-Segment Breakdown
Bron Breakker Ambushes Seth Rollins — Opening Segment
Raw opened with Roman Reigns storming through the backstage area looking for Jacob Fatu, but GM Adam Pearce informed him that Fatu hadn’t arrived yet. As Reigns cooled down in Gorilla Position, Seth Rollins appeared — the two shared a brief, loaded staredown before Rollins headed to the ring.
Rollins never made it to a promo. Bron Breakker attacked from behind during Rollins’ entrance, pressing him overhead and dropping him spine-first onto the ringside barricade in a sickening landing. Pearce rushed out with producers, referees, and security guards, but Breakker tossed them aside before being restrained. Breakker managed to break free and speared Rollins before finally being pulled away. Five days before their Backlash match, Breakker sent the loudest possible message — Rollins may not even be healthy enough to compete in Tampa.
Ethan Page & Rusev def. Penta & Je’Von Evans — Page Scores The Pin
The Intercontinental Championship picture crystallised in Omaha. Ethan Page and Rusev defeated Penta and Je’Von Evans in a tag match that could determine the Backlash IC title format. Penta and Evans built momentum early with double superkicks on Rusev and a Penta Driver on Page, but Page kicked out. Evans attempted a high-flying move from the top rope, but Page thwarted it. Rusev slammed Penta through the announce table outside the ring, and Page hit Evans with a Fisherman’s Suplex for the decisive pinfall.
Page scoring the pin is significant — WWE is clearly positioning him as a legitimate Intercontinental Championship contender. Rusev warning Page beforehand that “we will have a problem if we lose” added tension between the two heels, suggesting the alliance is one of convenience rather than trust. A Fatal Four-Way IC Championship match at Backlash involving Penta, Rusev, Page, and Evans now seems all but certain.

Sol Ruca Signs Raw Contract — Becky Lynch Confrontation Erupts
Sol Ruca’s contract signing turned into one of the most talked-about segments of the night. As Ruca prepared to sign, Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch interrupted, saying this was supposed to be her time for a championship celebration. Ruca called Lynch a “rude, big-headed bitch” — prompting a massive crowd reaction — and declared she would “snatch Lynch’s soul” if she was ever interrupted again. Ruca signed the contract, Lynch swung at her but accidentally hit Adam Pearce, and Ruca responded by hitting the Sol Snatcher on Lynch. The segment positioned Ruca as a fearless babyface who won’t back down from established champions — and potentially set up a Women’s Intercontinental Championship feud between the two.

JD McDonagh def. Finn Balor — Dominik Mysterio Interferes
JD McDonagh evened the score with his former Judgment Day stablemate, defeating Finn Balor with help from Dominik Mysterio. The match was a rematch from Raw two weeks ago, where Balor won cleanly. This time, Mysterio intervened when the referee wasn’t looking, preventing Balor from hitting a suicide dive. Roxanne Perez also made her way to ringside during the match in a curious development — earlier backstage, the Judgment Day confronted Perez about Balor appearing in the Clubhouse, with Liv Morgan questioning why she had to watch the show to find out. Perez promised no more secrets, but her ringside presence during the Balor-McDonagh match suggested otherwise.
Joe Hendry def. Austin Theory by DQ — Breakker-Rollins Brawl Round 2
Hendry performed his “Fire Logan Paul” song for the second consecutive week, sending Paul into a rage at ringside. Paul Heyman announced that Theory — not Paul — would face Hendry. Theory attacked early, but Hendry rallied with a fallaway slam before Paul jumped in to cause the DQ. The Street Profits ran down to make the save, but Bron Breakker stormed out and speared Angelo Dawkins and sent Montez Ford over the top rope. Seth Rollins then reappeared, dragging Breakker out of the ring and sending him into the ring steps. The second Breakker-Rollins brawl of the night underlined the intensity of their Backlash match.
El Original Grande Americano & Hermanos Credo def. Los Americanos — 6-Man Tag
The lucha faction warfare continued with Original El Grande Americano teaming with the masked Creed Brothers (Julio and Bruto) to defeat El Grande Americano, Bravo Americano, and Ray Americano. This match builds toward the Mask vs Mask match scheduled for AAA Noche de Los Grandes on May 30.
Asuka Sprays IYO SKY With Blue Mist — Sit-Down Segment
In a pre-taped sit-down interview, IYO SKY admitted she once looked up to Asuka and still respects her, but said Asuka has changed. Asuka responded by calling SKY her “biggest disappointment.” When SKY said she was ready for their Backlash match, Asuka sprayed her with the poison blue mist — ending the sit-down in the most Asuka way possible. The segment added genuine emotion to a feud that lost Kairi Sane to WWE’s post-WrestleMania releases.
Oba Femi def. Otis — Open Challenge Week 2 (2 minutes)
Tozawa answered the open challenge but immediately chickened out, pointing at Otis to take his place. The 330-pound Otis charged Femi, but The Ruler brushed him off, slammed him across the ring, and hit the Fall From Grace off the second rope for the win in two minutes flat. Two weeks, two squashes — Femi’s dominance continues following his WrestleMania victory over Brock Lesnar.
Jacob Fatu Slams Roman Reigns Through The Table — Contract Signed
The main event segment delivered. Roman Reigns opened by acknowledging Fatu’s grinding but said he was the one who opened the door for Solo Sikoa, which brought Fatu to WWE in the first place. Reigns demanded Fatu respect the system of conduct within the family, specifically saying Fatu cannot use the Tongan Death Grip on the Tribal Chief.
Fatu fired back with the promo of the night — he said he had no other choice but to take everything from Reigns. He was desperate to run through anyone for his household, and vowed to squeeze every drop of money out of the opportunity, “just like the company has done to our family for decades.” Reigns responded that he was doing business for everyone in the family, which is why Fatu was “beneath him inside the ring.”
That triggered Fatu. He lunged at Reigns and locked in the Tongan Death Grip. Reigns fought it off, punching his way out in the corner, but Fatu reapplied it multiple times. Adam Pearce tried to break it up, but Fatu slammed Reigns through the contract signing table with the Tongan Death Grip still locked in. Fatu then signed the contract and stood tall as the Omaha crowd chanted his name. The challenger has stood tall over the champion on three consecutive shows heading into Backlash.
