The 2026 tournament marks the 10th edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup and continues the expanded 20-team format introduced in 2024.
T20 World Cup 2026 Tournament Format
The T20 World Cup 2026 format remains unchanged from the previous edition.
- 20 teams divided into four groups of five
- Each team plays four group-stage matches
- Top two teams from each group advance to the Super 8
- Super 8 features two groups of four
- Top two teams from each Super 8 group qualify for the semi-finals
- Winners advance to the final
Each team is allowed a 15-player squad, with final squad submission deadlines set in January 2026.
