SmackDown Results Providence: Full Segment-By-Segment Breakdown
Charlotte Flair Wins Queen Of The Ring First Round — Faces Liv Morgan In Semi-Finals
The opening match delivered chaos. Cargill opened by attacking Flair immediately, and all three other women piled on The Storm. Cargill suplexed Flair, Ruca, and caught Valkyria off the middle rope before throwing her into Ruca. Flair fought back with chops and a crossbody on Cargill for a near-fall.
B-Fab and Michin pulled Flair out and attacked her at ringside — but Alexa Bliss’ music hit and she sprinted down to brawl with Michin. Tiffany Stratton followed and helped Bliss, taking out Michin while Bliss fought B-Fab. Back in the ring, Valkyria pulled Ruca off a cover, hit a diving guillotine leg drop on Cargill, and Flair attempted the Natural Selection — countered into a pin attempt that Flair kicked out of.
The match broke down with all four women exchanging finishers. Flair locked in the Figure Four on Valkyria, bridged up into the Figure Eight, and Valkyria tapped. Charlotte Flair advances to the Queen of the Ring semi-finals and faces Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan next week.
Post-match, Stratton told Cathy Kelley backstage that she and Flair aren’t friends — but they both agree they don’t want Cargill as their next champion.
Michin & B-Fab def. Tiffany Stratton & Chelsea Green
Cargill’s allies picked up a tag team victory over the unlikely pairing of Stratton and Green. Green was screaming and waving a kendo stick after making the save for Stratton earlier in the night. The result keeps Michin and B-Fab relevant heading into the Night of Champions build while Stratton and Green’s alliance remains fragile.
AAA Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Fenix (c) def. Axiom
Fenix retained the AAA Cruiserweight Championship in a high-flying contest against the Spanish luchador. The match continued the lucha storyline running through the AAA crossover, with the Mask vs Mask match still looming. Fenix won cleanly with his signature double stomp from the top rope.
Scream Mode (Paige & Brie Bella) def. Fatal Influence (Henley & Reid w/ Jayne)
The Women’s Tag Team Champions won in non-title action over Fatal Influence. Jacy Jayne was at ringside but didn’t get physically involved. The victory keeps Scream Mode’s momentum rolling heading into a likely Night of Champions defence — Fatal Influence remain the primary challengers for the Women’s Tag titles.
Gunther Reveals His Stipulation — He Picks The Referee
The most consequential non-match segment of the night. Nick Aldis approached Gunther backstage and asked what stipulation he wanted for his Undisputed WWE Championship rematch against Cody Rhodes next week. Gunther’s answer was unexpected: “I can’t trust you. I can’t trust WWE. So I get to pick the referee.”
Aldis asked who the referee would be. Gunther told him he’d reveal the name by the end of the night. The identity of Gunther’s handpicked referee is the biggest cliffhanger heading into next week’s Raw and the Night of Champions build.
Cody Rhodes responded later in the night, telling Aldis he’s beaten Gunther before and is ready to do it again — regardless of who the referee is. The Rhodes vs Gunther rivalry continues to escalate with the mystery referee adding a layer of unpredictability heading into their rematch.
Jacob Fatu Backstage — “The Tribal Chief Sent Me”
In a key Bloodline development, Jacob Fatu arrived backstage and told The Usos that “the Tribal Chief sent him.” Jimmy questioned why Fatu was there, and Fatu said he was looking for Solo Sikoa. Jimmy insisted Fatu stay away from Jey’s King of the Ring match — telling him the Usos would handle it. The tension between Fatu’s loyalty to Reigns and The Usos’ desire to protect Jey continues to simmer heading into the KOTR main event.
King Of The Ring First Round: Jey Uso vs LA Knight vs Royce Keys vs Finn Bálor — Main Event
The final King of the Ring first-round match and the main event of SmackDown Providence. Before the bell, a callback tease between Finn Bálor and Tama Tonga at ringside hinted at a potential alliance. The winner advances to face Je’Von Evans in the semi-finals.
