Kagiso Rabada just did something absurd. The Gujarat Titans pacer bowled every single delivery in the 4th over of the RCB chase at over 150 kph — 153, 151, 154, 152, 152, 151 — during the RCB vs GT IPL 2026 match at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 24. Six consecutive balls, all north of 150. Against Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal. In Bengaluru.
And the batters still scored 13 off it.
Kohli whipped the first ball — a 153 kph full delivery at his pads — through the on-side for four. Two balls later, Padikkal took on a 154 kph thunderbolt and launched it over deep backward square leg for six. That’s 10 runs off two deliveries bowled at an average speed of 153.5 kph. Pace, as they say, is pace — but placement is placement.
The over read: 4, 1, 6, 1, 1, 1 — 13 runs, no wickets. Rabada did everything right except take a wicket. Every ball was 151 kph or above. Every ball was back of a length or fuller. And the two batters at the crease just dealt with it.

Was This the Fastest Over in IPL History?
There is no official IPL record for the fastest complete over by average speed, so Rabada’s six-ball burst cannot be verified as an all-time first. But consider the context — the fastest balls in IPL 2026 list has only five bowlers who have breached 150 kph all season. Rabada just did it six times in six balls.
His 154 kph delivery — the one Padikkal deposited for six — is now the second fastest ball of IPL 2026, and only behind teammate Ashok Sharma’s 154.2 kph. That means the two fastest bowlers in IPL 2026 both play for Gujarat Titans.
For reference, the fastest ball in IPL history remains Shaun Tait’s 157.71 kph from 2011. Rabada’s 154 kph sits comfortably in the all-time top 15 — but the sustained nature of the over is what makes it extraordinary. Individual quick balls happen. Six in a row, all above 151, does not.
“They Are Ramping Up the Speed”
The timing makes it even better. Just days ago, during Gujarat Titans’ previous match against Mumbai Indians, Rabada was asked during the presentation ceremony about consistently clocking above 150 kph. His response? “I think the secret is that they are ramping up the speed.”
The crowd laughed. Rabada smiled. Then he went to the Chinnaswamy and did it for real — every ball, every delivery, 151 or higher. If the speed guns are ramped up, someone forgot to tell Kohli and Padikkal, who timed two of those “ramped up” deliveries to the boundary regardless.

Updated Fastest Balls in IPL 2026
Rabada’s over reshuffles the top of the fastest balls in IPL 2026 leaderboard. He now holds three entries in the top speeds this season — 154, 153, and 152 kph — all from this single over. Only Ashok Sharma’s 154.2 kph remains ahead of him. The GT pace duo now account for five of the six fastest deliveries in the tournament.
